Body Found Identified as Chase Suspect

Police-Lights-250x250[UPDATE] The body found this afternoon is that of a high speed chase suspect named Christopher Sellars. Sellers was involved in a high speed chase on December 19th of last year.

Troopers from the Klamath Falls Patrol office attempted to stop an orange Ford Expedition for a traffic violation on Highway 66 in Klamath. The driver who was later identified as Christopher Sellars, age 32, of Klamath Falls, attempted to elude troopers while traveling westbound on Highway 66 towards Ashland.

Today, an SOU professor and his students found a deceased male approximately 1 mile south of Highway 66, in a forested area. A Jackson County Deputy Medical Examiner and an OSP detective responded to the scene and identified the deceased male as Christopher Sellars. The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy from the State Medical Examiners office.

NEAR ASHLAND, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is at the scene of where a body has been found in the Greensprings area east of Ashland.

According to Captain Monte Holloway with the Sheriff’s Department, the body was found earlier this afternoon, and efforts are underway to make an identification. Officials said the body is a male.
